Poll Everywhere has created a new stand alone desktop participant app called Poll Everywhere Participate. The new beta participant app has the look and feel pollev.com, but allows you to now receive push notifications any time a presenter activates an activity to ensure you never miss a poll.
Note: Poll Everywhere Participate installed app is unique to Mac. Find out more about our Windows experience.
Download and Setup
Step 1: Go to Poll Everywhere’s Beta program sign up page.
Step 2: Fill out the appropriate information to register for the Beta program.
Step 3: We will send you an email; click the download link inside. It will start to download the application.
Step 4: Go to your Downloads and double-click on the participant app file. Give it a moment to extract the archive.
Step 5: Drag & drop the Poll Everywhere Participant app into your Applications folder.
Step 6: Go to your Applications and launch the participant app.
Step 7: Click the Log in option in the top left corner of the window.
Step 8: Enter in your Poll Everywhere account information.
Now that the participant app has successfully been downloaded and setup we need to make sure notifications are enabled as well.
Note: For optimal experience, please turn off any setting/app/utility that might interfere with you receiving notifications. For instance, macOS has a built-in "Do not disturb" mode — make sure that it is off. For any third party apps that restrict* notifications*, either turn them off or temporarily disable them.
Step 1: Open your System Preferences.
Step 2: Click on the Notifications option near the top right of the window.
Step 3: Scroll down the list of options on the left until you see Poll Everywhere Participant. Click on it.
Step 4: Toggle the switch next to Allow Notifications in the menu to the right.
Step 5: Enjoy your Poll Everywhere Participant app.
