If you are having trouble displaying your activities, or if your activities are displaying on the wrong screen while using the Poll Everywhere for MacOS presentation application, you might be able to solve the problem using the Force Monitor Selection command.
Open PollEv Presenter so it is the foremost window on your screen, and its menu is present in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
post-2.50.0: On the menu bar at the top of the screen, click Window, and hover the pointer over Force Monitor Selection to expand its menu.
pre-2.50.0: On the menu bar at the top of the screen, click Help and hover the pointer over Force Monitor Selection to expand its menu.
Choose the monitor and aspect ratio according to how and where you want your activity to be displayed.
Retry your presentation in slideshow mode. Your activities will display using the screen and aspect ratio you've selected.
If you continue to have trouble please gather your logs and contact support.
Why is force monitor good to use?
It could lead to faster activity activation during your presentation.
On Windows, PowerPoint gives us presentation location information.
On Mac, Keynote and PowerPoint don't give us permission to access the presentation location information. For that reason, when granting Poll Everywhere for Mac screen recording permission we look for placeholder markers, those rectangles on in the corners of the activities, on activity slides.
Sometimes display configuration is complex (displays are offset from one another), displays have high resolution (2k, Retina, 4K, Apple's 5K Cinema displays), the presenter is sharing their screen in an online call, screen recording is happening, it takes longer to do everything. Each of these things adds complexity and can slow down the entire computer. Cases like this lead to placeholder detection taking much longer than expected.
Using force monitor takes searching for the activity placeholder out of the equation, which can speed up the time it takes to display your activities.
