To install Poll Everywhere, you will first need to uninstall the LiveSlides application.
Uninstalling LiveSlides on Mac
Step 1: Locate LiveSlides in the Application folder in Finder
Step 2: Drag the app to the Trash, or select the app and choose File > Move to Trash.
Step 3: If you're asked for a user name and password, enter the name and password of an administrator account on your Mac.
Step 4: To delete the app, choose Finder > Empty Trash.
Installing Poll Everywhere for Mac
With Poll Everywhere for Mac, you can seamlessly present your live web content in your PowerPoint or Keynote presentations by embedding them as a slide.
To embed websites into your presentation, you’ll need to install the Poll Everywhere for MacOS app. You can visit the System requirements page to make sure your computer meets the minimum requirements.
Note: You do not have to create a Poll Everywhere account in order to download Poll Everywhere, and insert webpages for your presentation. You also do not have to re insert any of your previous content that was done with LiveSlides.
Make sure the Poll Everywhere for MacOS app is installed on the specific computer that is going to be used to present. If you’d like additional information on downloading and using Poll Everywhere for Keynote and PowerPoint on MacOs, we have additional support articles.
Step 1: Download the Poll Everywhere for MacOS app.
Step 2: Install Poll Everywhere for MacOS app by opening the pollev.dmg file you downloaded, then drag the PollEv Presenter icon into your Applications folder.
Now that you have the Poll Everywhere for MacOS app installed, you are ready to embed web pages and videos directly into your presentations. This can be useful for displaying tutorial videos, live dashboards, streaming video chats, etc.
Inserting web content
Step 1: Open The Poll Everywhere app from your applications folder.
Step 2: Click the Poll Everywhere icon in the doc to bring the app to the forefront, so the app name appears in the toolbar at the top of the screen.
Step 3: Click Poll Everywhere in the toolbar.
Step 4: Click Insert. From there you can select Video, or Web page.
Step 5: Enter the address of the web page or video you want to insert into your presentation, and click the Insert button.
A placeholder slide is inserted into the presentation slide deck.
Note: The information in the notes field of the slide must remain untouched. If this is deleted or altered in any way, the inserted content will not activate. You must also make sure that the Poll Everywhere application is open and running in the background, while you are presenting.
The place holder slide for inserted web pages won’t display a preview, or image of the content inserted. The blue marks in the corners are all that matter so that the system knows where to display your webpage.
You are now ready to present.
