The Poll Everywhere for MacOS presentation application uses the Poll Everywhere icon in the menu bar to indicate whether your presentation is in edit or slideshow mode.
If the Poll Everywhere icon is not visible while in edit mode, your activities will not work when you enter slideshow mode. For this reason, it is best if the menu bar is visible at all times while you are building and editing your presentation. When you enter presentation mode, the icon will be hidden indicating the Poll Everywhere for MacOS presentation application is ready to display your activities.
Here are some tips to ensure the Poll Everywhere icon is present when you are creating your presentation:
- Do not use the “Automatically hide and show the menu bar” option in OSX with the PollEv Presenter. This setting can be disabled by clicking the Apple icon in the menu bar, selecting System Preferences > General, and making sure “Automatically hide and show the menu bar” is unchecked.
- Avoid maximizing PowerPoint or Keynote using the green button at the top left of the window. This automatically hides the menu bar.
Keeping the menu bar visible while you are editing your presentation should ensure your activities will display correctly when you enter presentation mode.
