Creating activities
Step 1: To create a Poll Everywhere activity, click the Shortcuts icon (lightning bolt) located on the left side of the Slack formatting bar.
Step 2: Scroll until you see Poll Everywhere, and select Create and publish poll. You can also begin to type in Poll in the search bar, to bring up the option.
A new window will populate for you to select what type of activity you’d like to create. Currently you can choose either a multiple choice poll, or a Question and answer.
Note: As a shortcut, you can also bring up this same activity window by typing in “/pollev create” in the Slack text box.
Step 3: After you select which activity you’d like to create, fill out the title field with the question you’d like to ask. The next screen and options will differ slightly depending if you choose a multiple choice, or a question and answer poll.
If you choose a multiple choice poll, you can change the Number of responses per person if your poll has more than one answer, or if you’d like your participants to submit multiple responses. It's important to remember that each response will count toward the total number of responses allowed by your plan.
If you choose a Q&A poll, you’ll need to enter in the question you’re asking, as well as how your participants will be identified.
Note: If you select anonymous there is no way to turn this off for this specific poll moving forward. This removes the ability to correlate any other response with the participant, as well as the ability to use specific reports.
Step 4: Click the Create button on the bottom right of the window.
Step 5: Click the drop down bar to select a specific Slack channel to publish the poll in.
Step 6: Click the Publish button on the bottom right of the window to complete the process.
