Attendance Management feature is designed to help educators streamline attendance taking and reporting, create greater accountability for students, and improve learning outcomes.
Note: This feature will be available at the end of January. For more details or to schedule a demo, please contact your Customer Success Manager, or our Sales team here.
How to set up Attendance Management
Step 1: Log into your account at www.polleverywhere.com.
Step 2: Access the Attendance Management page. You can find two ways to access the page below:
a) Click on the Profile icon on the navigation bar shown on the left, then select Attendance.
b) On My activities page, select Settings within the Attendance Management Card.
Step 3: Under Geolocation, toggle to “Allow the location of your activities to be restricted to the areas you select”.
Step 4: Next, add the desired locations to allow students to check in from before joining the session.
Note: You can add or edit up to 10 locations and can delete any locations that are no longer needed. To learn more about geolocation or privacy policy, review the Resources section below.
Step 5: You are ready to present with Attendance Management to receive attendance. Students will be required to check-in when joining your presentation (ie pollev.com/username).
How to Collect Attendance
Once the geolocation feature is enabled and the location has been set, you activate and present your activities to start collecting attendance. To learn more, please see this helpful support article on Activation.
Students who join your presentation through your Pollev.com/username response page will be prompted to check-in with their current location. When they respond to an activity, their attendance will be captured by Poll Everywhere.
To learn more about the check-in process, please see our support article on Getting Started with Attendance Management for Students.
How to View Attendance
Once you’ve collected responses on the activities, you can view the students’ attendance through a Gradebook report. You will see a column titled "Attendance", which captures attendance as a percentage.
Note: The percentage is based on the total number of activity questions in the report. For example, if a student responds to 1 out of the 2 questions, they’ll receive 50% attendance.
If you utilize an LMS and are interested in learning how attendance is exported, please review the educator guides on the LMS here.
