An email address is required to register an account with Poll Everywhere. If your participants do not have email addresses, or if they do not wish to provide an email address, you can provide an email alias for them.
Many email providers allow you to use a + symbol to create email address aliases. For example, let's say you use the following email address:
ridge_elementary_poll@gmail.com
You can use the + symbol to create many participant aliases using this parent email address like so:
ridge_elementary_polls+student1@gmail.com
ridge_elementary_polls+student2@gmail.com
ridge_elementary_polls+student3@gmail.com
This allows you to register many participants using your own email account. The content after the + symbol differentiates the participant profiles, but all email correspondence will be redirected back to the primary email address.
Check with your organization to see if they already allows this use of the + symbol. If so, you can use your existing organization email address without the need to set up a separate account.
