If you’re participating in a Poll Everywhere 2.0 poll and notice your name is misspelt (it happens 😅), you can now update it yourself—right from the presentation join page.
This updates the name tied to your Poll Everywhere participant account (the one connected to your login). It’s separate from any screen name (responding as...) used for things like leaderboards.
How to change your participant name
Open the presentation join page (the page you use to submit answers).
Open My settings.
Update your first name and last name.
Select Save changes.
Your updated name will be used going forward for polls where your responses are linked to your account. This change updates the name on your participant account (the name your instructor will see for graded or identified responses).
It does not change:
Your email address or login method
Tip: If you’re a presenter/instructor, the My settings experience will take you to your normal presenter settings page instead.
If you can’t edit your name
If the option isn’t available, it may mean:
You’re not signed in
The poll doesn’t require identified participation
Your organization’s settings restrict profile edits
In that case, ask your instructor, or contact the Technical Support team
