If your instructor is using Poll Everywhere for attendance, you may be asked to check in using a rotating code displayed on screen. Rotating codes are a quick and accessible way to confirm you’re present in class.
How to check in with a rotating code
Go to the Poll Everywhere presenter join page for your class.
If attendance is active, you’ll see the check-in screen.
-
Choose one of the available options:
Share location (if enabled), or
Enter the code shown on the join page screen.
Type the code exactly as displayed and/or share your location.
Submit your check-in. Once accepted, your attendance is recorded.
Helpful tips: Codes remain valid for 20 seconds, including display time. Once a code expires and rotates out, it cannot be reused.
If your code doesn’t work, check the screen again and enter the current one.
As long as the attendance session is still open, you can check in using the code currently displayed. Once the session closes, check-in is no longer available unless your instructor makes an adjustment.

If you can’t see the code
If you’re unable to see the display (for example, due to visual accessibility needs or being advised to join from home due to medical reasons or exemptions ), select:
"Explain why"
This allows you to submit your attendance for instructor review. If you’re physically present but having technical trouble, let your instructor know after class.
