If you’ve joined a Poll Everywhere session as a participant and decide later that you want to create your own questions or run your own presentations, you don’t need to start over or contact support. You can upgrade from participant to presenter instantly, right from your account.
This self-service upgrade process takes just a few clicks and gives the user access to their own presenter account.
Who can upgrade?
If you're signed into Poll Everywhere and your current role is "participant" in all the organizations you’re part of, you'll see an option to upgrade. This includes users who may have joined multiple sessions across different organizations, but haven't yet created content themselves.
The “Become a presenter” option appears automatically in your account if you're eligible.
How to upgrade from participant to presenter
Sign in to Poll Everywhere with your email.
If you are currently a participant, look in the top-left corner of your screen for your account dropdown. Inside that menu, you’ll see a button labeled “Become a presenter.” Click it to begin.
You’ll be redirected to your new presenter dashboard.
From here, you can begin creating polls, exploring AI tools, setting up folders, and organizing your first activities.
You are now a presenter with your own organization.
What happens after I upgrade?
Once you click “Become a presenter,” Poll Everywhere automatically creates a new presenter workspace just for you:
A new organization is created where you are the admin.
You are placed on a 30-day free trial.
You’ll have access to full presenter features including poll creation, AI tools, and reporting.
Your existing participant account is preserved, but now has presenter privileges in your own workspace.
Can I still respond to polls from others?
Yes. You can still participate in polls from other organizations as a guest or participant. Your new presenter account does not affect your ability to join other sessions.
Think of it this way: you now have access to both sides of the experience — presenting your own questions and continuing to respond in others’ sessions.
If you need help with upgrading or have questions about the presenter trial, you can always contact our support team. We're here to help.
