"Login As User" in Poll Everywhere 2.0 allows Enterprise users to quickly logging in as another account within the same organization. This is helpful for troubleshooting, assisting colleagues, preparing content, or managing multiple user profiles during events, all without needing shared passwords or workarounds.
Login As User mirrors the selected user’s permissions and provides access to their content, polls, and settings that admins are normally allowed to manage. Login As User is designed to feel natural, safe, and familiar, similar to switching profiles in other modern apps.
How to Log in As Another User
Sign in to your Poll Everywhere account as an Admin.
In the bottom-left corner, click your name or avatar.
Select "Login As User" from the menu.
Choose the user you want to logging in as. You will immediately begin viewing Poll Everywhere as that user.
Perform any troubleshooting or updates as needed.
When finished, choose "Return to..." again to return to your own account.
What Can "Login As User" Do
Login As User is designed for everyday workflows across the organization, not just administrators. You can use it to:
View Poll Everywhere 2.0 exactly as another user sees it
Access the user’s polls and workspaces
Adjust poll settings and configurations on their behalf
Troubleshoot issues in real time by “seeing through their eyes”
Assist with onboarding, classroom setups, or presentation prep
For Event Organizers:
Quickly switch between presenter accounts during a live event
Prepare polls, run-throughs, and content ahead of time across multiple presenter profiles
Access different presenters’ content without repeated sign-ins or shared credentials
This feature is designed to streamline admin or account owners' workflows, helpful for anyone managing large teams, frequent events, or multiple presenters and reduce back-and-forth with end users who need support.
Limitations
To protect user privacy and security, certain data and settings remain inaccessible when logged in as another user’s account.
While "Logged in As", you cannot:
Change the user’s personal information (name, email address, join code, etc.)
View, change, or reset the user’s password, or see password history
View or modify two-factor authentication settings
View or manage the user’s active sessions, including remote logout
Logged in into any other organization that the user may belong to
These restrictions help ensure privacy, account integrity, and clear auditability.
Best Practices
Login As User is powerful; use it thoughtfully and transparently.
Use sparingly with end users: Logging into a user’s profile without clear communication can feel disorienting for them, especially if changes appear unexpectedly. Whenever possible, notify the user before making updates on their behalf.
Avoid interfering with live sessions: Presenting or activating content while logging in as another user’s account will behave exactly as if that user themselves triggered it. If the user is currently presenting in a class or meeting, switching and activating content may interrupt their live session.
