In this article:
Poll Everywhere 2.0 lets you embed Response Links directly into other websites and learning platforms. This includes Canvas and any site that supports embedded HTML, such as Notion or internal webpages.
Embedding a Response Link allows participants to view and respond to a poll without leaving the page, making it ideal for assignments, modules, and asynchronous participation.
What an embedded Response Link does
An embedded Response Link displays the Poll Everywhere poll inline on the page. Participants can respond directly in the embed, using the same rules and settings as the original Response Link. If no dates are selected, the poll will stay active indefinitely.
How to create an embed code
To generate an embed code for a poll:
Open the poll in Poll Everywhere.
Select Share.
Make sure Response Link is enabled.
Select the Embed icon.
Copy the embed code.
Tip: If no dates and times are selected, the poll will stay active indefinitely.
For example, you can embed Response Links inside Canvas assignments, pages, or modules.
Open your Canvas course.
Edit the page or assignment where you want the poll.
Switch to the HTML editor.
Paste the embed code.
Save and publish.
Once published, students will see the Poll Everywhere poll directly on the Canvas page and can respond without opening a new tab.
Embedding on other sites (Notion, websites, etc.)
The same embed code can be used on any platform that supports HTML embeds, including Notion and custom websites.
Paste the embed code into the platform’s embed or HTML block and publish the page. The poll will behave the same way it does in Canvas.
What participants see
Participants see the full Poll Everywhere poll embedded on the page. They can respond normally, and responses are recorded in real time.
If the poll requires a login, participants will be prompted to sign in before responding.
Things to keep in mind
Embedded Response Links follow the same availability dates as the original Response Link.
Audience size limits apply the same way they do for non-embedded links.
Changes to the poll automatically update everywhere it’s embedded.
