Poll Everywhere 2.0 allows you to upload images directly into answer choices. Each choice functions like a flexible content editor. You can insert a single image, multiple images, or combine images with text. Animated GIFs are supported, and you can mix formatting such as bold and italics, alongside media.
This is not limited to one image per option; you can structure each choice however you like.
How to add images to answer choices
Click inside an answer choice
Select the choice you want to edit. The rich text editor will activate.Add your description text
Type your answer text either above or below where the image will go.
You can format the text as needed (bold, italics, etc.).-
Insert the image: You have two options:
Click the Image Add icon in the answer choice toolbar and select a file from your computer.
Or paste directly using Ctrl + V (Windows) or Cmd + V (Mac) if you’ve copied an image to your clipboard. The image will upload directly into that answer choice.
Repeat these steps for any additional answer choices.
Helpful tips: For the cleanest layout, use images with similar dimensions. Each uploaded file can be up to 50MB. This applies to Images, GIFs and other supported uploads. For best performance, we recommend compressing large files before uploading.
This makes it much easier to build visually engaging polls. You can now create image-based multiple choice questions, visual comparisons, diagram identification activities, meme-based engagement prompts, or side-by-side critiques. Because text and images can live together inside each choice, you have full flexibility in how you structure your content.
What participants see
When you present the activity:
Each answer choice displays with consistent font sizing.
Images and text appear together in the option.
Participants can tap or click the image itself to select that answer.
The entire choice area (image + text) is selectable.
From the participant screen, users simply select the image or option that best represents their answer; no additional steps are required.
